I recently received a request to run on Windows 7 32 bit. I modified the install and things have gone well with VB6 and SQL 2005, but Crystal Reports is giving the following errorVB6 Crystal Reports ActiveX viewer not displaying all export formats I am using the Crystal Reports ActiveX viewer (v10) in a VB6 app. 01:41 AM 799,944 crviewer.dll The viewer loads OK and displays the report but the export formats available using the button. This is what I do using Crystal Reports 9 with VB6 When creating an ActiveX Designer Report (DSR), the Crystal Reports Gallery dialog appears. Choose From an Existing Report and browse to the report file. The Report file will be converted to a DSR for use with the RDC in Visual Basic. The wizard does the rest. Then enter your code as normal. VB6 and Crystal reports. This question is answered. 2 u2013 What licensing requirements are there if I wish to distribute a VB application that includes the run-times for Crystal 9 RDC and Report Viewer including use of CRAXDRT.Application as well as CRAXDRT.REPORT objects? The runtime is free - as long as you do not use report creation.
Run-time error ‘-2147192184 (80047288)’
Server has not yet been opened.
I know the database connection is open and fine, because VB6 is able to fill drop down boxes with information from the database.
My development computer is setup with 2 hard drives. One boots to XP and the other boots to windows 7 64 bit. When I run the program that has been installed on the Windows 7 drive from the XP drive everything works fine. (example: from the c: drive of XP move to D: drive that is Windows 7 and run the program. )
If the same program is connected to an Access database in the Windows 7 environment, there is no problem with the reports.
I hope there is an easy fix for this.
For another problem.

On windows 7 64 bit I am unable to install SQL 2005 32 bit. It errors out with not being able to connect to the database during the install.
If I cannot install the 32 bit SQL 2005 on Windows 2005 how can I setup a connection string that would see the SQL server I have on the XP drive from the Windows 7 drive. Is this possible.
I am a developer and know I am going to be facing these questions a lot in the future. My clients are slow to change operating systems and definitely to change program platforms.
Thanks ahead for your answers to my problems

I've got 234 Crystal Reports v.9 which I'm trying to get VB6 to batch run overnight using a specific UID and password for each report - during the day these reports are used ad-hoc by users (and seem to remember the last user) - so I want to pass fresh UID and PWD for each report at run time using VB6 - there are several databases being used although each report is limited to using one database
I've been trying to use the LogOnServer method of the RDC (as recommended by Crystal Decisions) but to no avail (getting fault -2147189172) and the code I'm using is:
Sub Form_Load()
Dim App1 As CRAXDRT.Application
Dim Report As CRAXDRT.Report
Set App1 = CreateObject('CrystalRuntime.Application')
'XXX NEXT LINE IS WHERE IT ALWAYS FALLS OVER
App1.LogOnServer 'p2smon.dll', 'myDSNname', 'myDatabase', 'myname', 'mypassword'
Set Report = App1.OpenReport('report.rpt')
Report.DiscardSavedData
Debug.Print App1.GetVersion
Report.Database.Verify
CRViewer91.ReportSource = Report
CRViewer91.ViewReport
Thanks for helping
